Frequently Asked Questions
What populations do you work with?
I have specialized training in working with individuals, couples and families. I often see adolescents in the context of individual and family therapy. If I am not the best choice for your needs I can offer a referral to another therapist who will be a better match.
How does counseling work?
I will have an initial meeting with both members of a couple or all members of a family. Counseling may then include individual, couple and family sessions designed to address your unique needs. A person may come to counseling once or twice and then terminate or chose to continue until their needs are addressed.
How much does counseling cost?
Each 50 minutes session is on a sliding scale that starts at $60 and goes to $120. I’m also a preferred provider for many insurance panels including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, Cofinity, Value Options and others.
Is counseling confidential?
All of your conversations with me are completely confidential except where mandated otherwise by law, as in child abuse, elder abuse or imminent danger to yourself or others.
What agency licenses Professional Counselors (LPCs) in Colorado?
The practice of LPCs in Colorado is regulated by the Colorado State Department of Regulatory Agencies. See www.dora.state.co.us
How many counseling sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on several factors, including but not limited to the goals for therapy, the nature and severity of the problems encountered and the desire of the client to actively participate in counseling. At the first session the client is informed that he/she may terminate at any time and is invited to discuss termination at any point in counseling.
Where is your office and what are your hours?
My office is located at 100 W. Beaver Creek Blvd. Suite 218 Avon, Colorado. I have daytime, evening and weekend appointments available.
How do I begin counseling?
